Ieri mattina, 23 settembre, il duca e la duchessa del Sussex sono stati raggiunti dal governatore Kathy Hochul, dal sindaco Bill De Blasio e dalla moglie e dal figlio di De Blasio, Chirlane McCray e Dante de Blasio.
Il gruppo si è riunito alle 8 del mattino presso l’osservatorio in cima all’imponente edificio, quindi è tornato al piano terra per vedere il memoriale dell’11 settembre, sul sito delle Torri Gemelle che sono state distrutte nell’attacco terroristico.
Si sono soffermati sull’elenco dei nomi delle persone uccise nel settembre 2001 che sono stati scritti lungo i bordi delle grandi fontane che sono state costruite sulle fondamenta degli edifici delle Torri Gemelle.
Harry e Meghan sono entrati anche nel Museo dell’11 settembre.

In the morning, September 23, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were joined by Governor Kathy Hochul, Mayor Bill De Blasio, and De Blasio’s wife and son, Chirlane McCray and Dante de Blasio. The group met at 8am at the observatory on top of the massive building, and then returned to ground level to see the 9/11 memorial on the site of the Twin Towers which were destroyed in the mass attacks.
They paused at the list of the names of those killed in September 2001 which have been inscribed around the edges of the large pools which were built in the footprints of the former buildings.
Harry and Meghan also entered the 9/11 Museum which is located underneath.
